The majority of us will never use biscuit jointers & biscuits because we aren't woodworkers and so we won't need them. If people don't know what they are, then usually they are just fine with that. However, for those that do know or those that think they want to know, this sort of thing is really just for woodworkers.

When it comes to building things with wood, those who do that, will know why they need biscuit jointers & biscuits to get the job done. It is a really important tool that will be missed if it isn't used. If you don't know what they are then you do need to know that they are vital to woodworking project and basically allow for you to be successful if you ever find yourself involved in assembling pieces of wood.
If you are a woodworker or you think you might want to take up the hobby then you need to learn fast what biscuit jointers & biscuits are. A biscuit jointer is a half circle shaped cut out that is made in the wood. Then you have the biscuit itself, which sticks out of the other piece of wood and then the two pieces fit together. Now, the pieces won’t stay together all on their own. You will need to make sure that you apply some glue to either the slot or to the biscuit itself. Once you've applied the glue you need to clamp the two pieces together. You need to wait for the glue to dry which will take about 24 hours.
If you've purchased the right glue, then it should dry clear. If you don't buy the right glue then you may end up with glue that doesn't dry clear. Not just any glue will work for woodworking projects. It is important to use wood glue. You are likely to find that the wood glue is harder than the wood itself when it dries.
